This is the first part of a project in which we will design an build a function generator capable of providing a sine, triangle, square, pulse and ramp wave-forms. We will be using the XR2206 function generator I.C. A 8 digit 7 segment display will be used to display the frequency.

The terribly sad thing is to see such valuable material end and one of the best YouTube channels end with it. I just discovered the channel but having retired after a very long career that started in electronics repair and design for 25 years before going into IT and then IT management for a Fortune 100 company, one of my biggest plans and hopes in retirement is to get back into electronics and to restore the skill and knowledge, updated with the latest in technologies, that I once had.
One of my primary goals in this is to design and build from scratch as much of my test equipment as possible, when I found your channel on YouTube, I saw right away that it was a great place for me to start and to subscribe. Then I found that the latest videos were 7 years ago so I’m at least that far too late to the scene. I know that it is often the case that health or even passing is the reason we lose so many of the greatest talent in teaching electronics and I hope for you and your family that all is well, even if you are no longer able to do the online stuff. I do want to say, though, that I will miss what might have been next, as I am sure that your 29.8K subscribers, and the tens of thousands who might have subscribed were you able to continue your work, all miss your work as well.
Best wishes to you and yours and here’s to a bit selfishly hoping you’re able to do more online in the future.
Regards,
Dale
